Nutrient upwellings gather abundant pelagics: grey reef sharks, whitetip reef sharks, giant trevally, barracudas and huge fusilier schools. Manta rays frequently feed here June–September. Mid-depth walls are covered with hard corals, sea fans and sponges, hiding pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs and frogfish.
Water temperature is 25–28℃; visibility reaches 15–30m in dry season (April–October). It is a classic drift dive for big-animal wide-angle photography, regularly paired with Crystal Rock on north Komodo liveaboard schedules.
