Explore diving in Poland
From Baltic wrecks to inland quarries, diving in Poland offers diverse cold-water experiences for adventurous divers. The Baltic Sea coast near Gdańsk and the Hel Peninsula is known for historic shipwrecks preserved by cold, low-salinity waters. Inland, flooded quarries, lakes, and training sites provide clear freshwater diving with submerged forests, platforms, and geological formations. Expect encounters with cod, flounder, freshwater fish, and excellent wreck structure. With a strong technical diving scene, Poland scuba diving is ideal for wreck, training, and advanced cold-water exploration.
When to dive in Poland
The best time for scuba diving in Poland is from May to October, when air temperatures are warmer and access to coastal and inland sites is easiest. Baltic Sea visibility is often best in late summer, while inland quarries can offer good conditions year-round. Water temperatures range from 4–18°C, making drysuits common. Winter and ice diving are popular with experienced divers. Seasonal planning is key for safe diving in Poland.
