The sea between Piran and Strunjan offers great underwater landscapes and a wide variety of marine life. Piran regulars include squid, octopus, seahorse, lobsters gobies, sea perch and cuttlefish.
Cave diving is also popular and can be done in Postojna, Skocjan and in the tunnel at Wild Lake.
Maona Rossa is a vessel described as a “trailer”, it is without its own propulsion and is towed by another ship. Used for transportation of different cargo, it was sunk during WW2. Around the wreck it is possible to see remnants of 3 other mines.
Diving can be done all year round, but the best time for it is between May and October.
