There are multiple spots at Lake Pleasant where you can enjoy diving. Open Water classes from the different dive shops here in the Valley use the West and East side of the lake. Everyone has their own opinion about which side best suit them. I have taken and instructed classes on both sides and I prefer Vista Point on the East side. Vista Point offers a lot of different terrain and underwater sights for you to see instead of just there is more rocks and oh look...more rocks. There is an underwater skeleton table, a wall that runs East to West, a sunken boat and depth. Open water diving all the way up to Tech diving can be completed at this site.
You can dive at Vista Point, Lake Pleasant year round. Currently the visibility is very low at approximately a couple feet. It can range with your visibility at different depths and locations. We o diving year round and it is great despite visibility. The weekends do get SUPER busy. Preferably we go during the week rather than the weekend.
Lake Pleasant is on the Northern part of the Valley. If you want to get to Vista Point put Pleasant Harbor Marina into your gps. Once you go through the gate take a right at the stop sign. Go down to the next stop sign and take a left. You will see the road split and a hill with a dirt road directly in front of you. Take the dirt road up the hill so you go up and over the hill and stay to the left. Once you start going down the hill go past the gazebo and follow it around the curve and you stay on that road as it follows the shore line around the curve to a parking lot at the other end. Park there and you are good. This sounds really long. It is not. Takes about 5 minutes because you are driving slow on the dirt road.
