Diving Angra dos Reis

Explore diving Angra dos Reis

Scuba diving in Angra dos Reis is a top-tier experience for divers visiting Brazil’s southeastern coast. The region is famous for its crystal-clear waters, more than 365 islands, and diverse marine life. Popular dive spots like Ilha Grande, Ilha dos Meros, and Ilha de Jorge Grego offer calm conditions, colorful reefs, shipwrecks, and encounters with turtles, rays, and tropical fish. With options for beginners and advanced divers, Angra dos Reis is ideal for year-round diving, photography, and marine exploration. It’s considered one of the best scuba diving destinations in Brazil for underwater visibility and biodiversity.

When to dive Angra dos Reis

The best time to go scuba diving in Angra dos Reis is between October and April, when the water is warmer and visibility is at its best. During summer months (December to March), water temperatures reach 26–28°C (79–82°F), and marine life is abundant. These months are popular with tourists and offer the most frequent dive tours. For a quieter experience, October, November, and April are excellent shoulder seasons with ideal conditions. While diving is possible year-round, the winter months (June to August) can bring colder water and slightly reduced visibility, especially after storms.
