Description

This dive site has several distinct sections. 1. The mooring buoy is tied directly to a small sailboat laying on its starboard side, its story unknown. Inside, look for the anemone that is sometimes home to squat shrimp (aka sexy shrimp). 2. The dive site is also home to JabJabs, a popular floating bar housed on the 85-foot steel sailing ship SV Nightingale. She sunk during Hurricane Irma and subsequently salvaged after being submerged for three months in the Simpson Bay Lagoon. The wreck is now an artificial reef habitat. 3. The Bridge: The story goes that a boat wanted to come into the lagoon, but the bridge & channel were too small. Rather than anchoring in Simpson Bay, the Mega yacht Limitless helped fund a new bridge and deeper channel. Old bridge remains are now out here as an artificial reef to home local wildlife and for divers to enjoy. Thank you, Victoria’s Secret.
