This moored dive site is located at the top of Alofi Bay, about a 15-minute boat ride away. The mooring sits over a 10–12 meter rubble bottom, where a small anemone with two grumpy resident anemonefish can be found. The rubble patch leads into a large cave entrance—torches are required. The cave extends roughly 25 meters with an overhead environment that gradually shallows into a halocline, where fresh and saltwater layers meet. The chamber is spacious enough to surface inside with up to six divers. Inside, you’ll find stunning light effects and sometimes spot the local “Uga” or coconut crabs resting on the walls. The exit is through the same opening, revealing a striking blue glow and fish silhouettes as you ascend. Outside the cave, large table corals line the reef edge, leading to a steep drop-off. Mild currents may occasionally be present.
