Niue is located in the South Pacific Ocean. A coral reef surrounds the island, with the only major break in the reef being in the central western coast, close to the capital, Alofi.
Visibility is rated amongst the best in the world - frequently in excess of 50 and sometimes up to 70 metres. As Niue is made of porous limestone, it has no lakes or streams, so all rainwater filters quickly through this rock into the sea & in doing so has carved out an amazing environment to explore - caverns, caves and cathedrals.
Diving is a spectacular with a mind-boggling array of marine life, including turtles, dolphins, snakes, whales in season, hard corals and all manner of fish.
The best time to visit Niue is between May and November, when you’re likely to experience the best weather and diving.
