The world’s largest sea cave by volume brings opportunities for some fabulous diving! In winter the low sun comes right in the entrance lighting up the cave, in summer it’s a bit of welcome shade from the warm sun. As the light hits the water splashes of light reflect on the ceiling creating an amazing shimmering effect and helping ferns and plant life to grow from it. Beneath the surface, you’ll find beautiful sponges and hydroid life lining the walls, with kelp only found in the entrance due to the lack of consistent light. From the anchorage head to the southwestern corner of the cave to find a large whale jaw bone resting on the sand at around 12m. Follow along the walls searching for colourful nudibranchs as you navigate the large boulders along the bottom sitting around between 16-20m. Only once you reach the entrance will you find the kelp forest again with the entrance sloping down to around 25-30m at the entrance itself.
