This bay is widely recognized due to the filming of the movie Popeye, starring Robin Williams. Anchor Bay derives its name from the anchor used as a mooring buoy for barges carrying material to build the village of Sweet Haven, the set used in the film which can still be seen today. This area is particularly sought after due to a beautiful underwater cave, in addition to the local marine life.
