**Police Corner** is an advanced dive site in the central region of Komodo National Park, located at the tip of Siaba Besar island between Siaba Besar and Gili Lawa Laut, off the coastline of Padar. Named after the nearby ranger post, it is renowned for its dramatic underwater topography: huge coral-covered overhangs and ledges that plunge from around 8 metres to a maximum depth of 30 metres and beyond, sheltering massive schools of fusiliers and snapper that hide from patrolling sharks. The sloping reef and walls are blanketed in healthy soft and hard corals, sea fans and sponges, and the medium-to-strong currents sweeping the point make it a thrilling drift dive best suited to advanced divers. Marine-life highlights include white-tip and grey reef sharks, stingrays, bumphead parrotfish, moray eels, giant trevally, grouper and barracuda, while macro enthusiasts can hunt for peacock mantis shrimp, frogfish and nudibranchs in the cracks and crevices. Best dived from March to October.
