Flinders Pier is the Weedy Seadragon capital of the world, and featured in BBC Blue Planet II documentary! Another incredibly popular pier dive site in Victoria.
Depth is 2-6 metres and it's best dived on high or slack tide. Entry/exit via the beach, or by the lower landings on either side of the pier. Watch out for boats and fishermans' hooks. Carry a dive flag and a dive knife at all times here. Listen out for boat traffic before surfacing.

The pier itself has incredibly beautiful life underneath it, with seagrasses making up most of the bottom composition, which is a change from the sandy bottom seen most commonly in Port Phillip. The grasses make great camouflage for the Weedy Seadragons, which is why they call it home!
You are likely to see large Smooth Rays, Weedfish, Pipefish, Nudibranch, Swell Sharks, schools of Weed Whiting and Goatfish. The occasional Eagle Ray, Giant Cuttlefish, Seal, Penguins, plus plenty of other little fish and critters.
