Gray Quarry offers some unique considerations for local diving.
The water temperatures are usually very close from the surface to the almost 75-foot-deep bottom. There are no real thermoclines. Visibility is usually very good and the dive season is extended by the warm waters.
There is a large houseboat, SeaDoo, fire truck, airplane, and various statues throughout.
Parking, Porta_johns, and changing rooms are at the top of a hill. You can drop your gear at the dive area. A converted bus is by the dive area is used for changing or warming up.
The owners are fantastic and go way out of their way to help provide a great local dive site.
Things start warming up in the spring. We start in late April and continue well into November.
Diving goes on all year long with a drysuit or good wetsuit.
Hours are not set but you can dive the quarry whenever you want. Local shops have access anytime and can arrange for you to get in any day of the week. Weekends are usually busy all day.

From the junction of i-26 and I-81 in Tennessee go east on I-26 to Exit 13, Gray TN. Go right toward and past the Mcdonald's to the light. Turn right on Old Gray Station Road and go about 1/2 mile to Buckingham road. Go right for another r1/2 miles and the dive signs are on the right.
