Getting to Marathon is convenient, whether you’re flying or driving. The closest major airport is Key West International Airport (EYW), located about 47 miles southwest, followed by Miami International Airport (MIA), approximately 110 miles northeast. From either airport, the drive along the scenic Overseas Highway (US-1) is unforgettable, passing turquoise waters and historic bridges. Marathon also has a small regional airport (MTH) for private flights and charter services. Car rentals are recommended for flexibility and dive gear transport. Public options include Keys Shuttle and bus services from Miami. Once in Marathon, you’ll find numerous dive shops and charters near Boot Key Harbor and Vaca Cut, offering easy access to world-class reefs and wrecks.
