White Star Park in Sandusky County Ohio, is an 1500 acre park located near Gibsonburg, Ohio. White Star Quarry is a 15 acre man-made lake with the center of the quarry reaching 50 feet/15 meters. Keep your eyes out for blue gill, common carp, channel catfish and brown trout whilst enjoying the quarry. Night diving is also very popular here and is offered on certain days. The Scube Concession is open Weekends and Wednesdays during the summer time.  The quarry is open for diving from 8am-dark from April 1 - December 31 on a self-serve basis.  The check in forms are at the main entrances to the dive site for divers to register.  Bubble-watchers and Pets are welcome and free of charge.   Swimming is available at the park but run by the Sandusky County Parks District and is a separate entity from the scuba concession. 


Gilboa Quarry is a 14+ acre limestone quarry, located in Northwest Ohio and provide the perfect environment for certified divers and training. The quarry shallow side sits at 5-65 feet/1-19 meters while the deep part of the quarry goes to 130 plus feet/40 meters (great for technical divers and advanced training). Gilboa Quarry’s two main attractions are the Sikorsky Helicopter and Grumman Airplane which is the largest complete airplane in any quarry in the United States.


When to dive in Ohio

The quarry's and lakes will vary with opening times so it's always best to check ahead of time and contact the local dive site for up to date opening hours. Usually, the parks are open year-round but will close earlier in the winter months November-April.

Rental gear, air refills, overnight stays and season passes are available for many of the sites.
