Tioman Island nestles on the edge of the Coral Triangle off Malaysia’s East Coast. With its extensive coral reefs and large boulder structures, these create mazes of swim-throughs for divers. Once the reefs have been enjoyed there are countless wrecks of all ages. The waters around Tioman Island offer never ending adventures.
Hard corals, soft corals, sea fans, sea sponges and small critters attract an array of marine life to the area that macro divers will fall in love with. Rock formations, schools of barracudas and sightings of manta ray and whale shark during the migration season are a few of the many reasons to check out the diving around Tioman Island.
Tioman Island, like the rest of Malaysia is a tropical country with low humidity and hot weather. From March- October are the best times for diving. Visibility ranges from 15m to 30m.
Water temperatures range from 27- 29°C so a 3mm wetsuit year round is a popular choice amongst divers.
You can reach Tioman by taxi, bus, car and ferry from both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
