Welcome to Gargalianoi, a beautiful coastal town in Messinia, Greece. Here, you'll find the stunning Ionian sea, with blue waters that call you to dive in.

Whether you're diving from the shore or a boat, Gargalianoi has something for divers of all levels. You'll encounter a vibrant underwater world filled with fish, turtles, sea slugs, stingrays, and octopuses.

Gargalianoi is different from those big touristy places. It's a peaceful haven waiting for you to discover its secrets. 

Proti Island is one of the highlights of the area! You'll find lots of different dive spots like walls, caves, and even a wreck. The island is really close to the coast, just 2 nautical miles away from Marathopoli. There are around 10 dive spots, so you have plenty of options to explore. So come and experience a unique and tranquil diving adventure in this untouched underwater paradise.

When to dive Gargalianoi
Even though, it's possible to dive all year around. Dive centers on this area are operating seasonally, from April to October. Some of the places where you will find this dive shops are:
 
Marathopoli, where you can find most of the dive sites of the region. By shore and also by boat at Proti Island.
 
Pylos Diving Park, well know for the battle of Navarino, this bay has a lot to offer to divers of all levels. 
 
Methoni, also known by his famous Underwater Archeological Park.

Getting to Gargalianoi from Athens:
1. By Car:
   - Take the National Road Athens-Corinth (E94/A8) and head towards Tripoli.
   - Continue on the Corinth-Tripoli National Road (E65) until Kalamata.
   - From Kalamata, follow the signs to Gargalianoi, taking the route through picturesque landscapes.
2. By Bus:
   - KTEL Messinia operate services from Athens to Gargalianoi several times per day.
 
Getting to Gargalianoi from Kalamata Airport:
1. By Car:
   -Rent a car at Kalamata Airport and follow the signs towards Gargalianoi.
   - The journey offers scenic views and takes approximately 45-60 minutes.
2. By Taxi:
   - Taxis are available at Kalamata Airport. You can easily hire one for a direct transfer to Gargalianoi.
3. By Bus:
   - Local buses may connect Kalamata Airport to Gargalianoi, but schedules may vary, so it's advisable to check in advance.
