Jacob’s Ladder is an advanced dive site located in Coiba National Park, approximately one hour by boat from the dive center. The site sits close to deep ocean waters, which makes it highly dynamic and occasionally exposed to strong currents.
The dive site consists of a single pinnacle, where rocky formations create a distinctive ladder-like shape. The structure is beautifully covered in white gorgonian corals, giving the site a dramatic and unique appearance.
The shallowest point is around 16 meters, and the pinnacle drops steeply to depths exceeding 40 meters, making depth control and awareness essential. This vertical relief attracts a wide range of marine life, including white-tip reef sharks, and, on occasion, hammerhead sharks. Sightings of Galapagos sharks, eagle rays, and giant manta rays are also possible, especially when conditions are right.
Reccomended for experienced divers who are comfortable with depth, currents, and open-ocean conditions.
