Guraidhoo Corner sits in the heart of Guraidhoo Kandu, the channel between Guraidhoo Island and the open Indian Ocean. This channel position makes it a hotspot where ocean currents funnel marine life into the atoll, especially during the northeast monsoon season. The top of the reef kicks off around 5 meters and slopes down to a sandy bottom at about 30 meters—nice and gradual to start, then it opens up. The real highlight is the corner, where you’ll be treated to schools of gray reef sharks cruising by, elegant eagle rays gliding through, and those chunky Napoleon wrasse adding some character. As we move into the channel, the reef leads to some cool overhangs—perfect safe havens for green turtles and hawksbill turtles to chill out. These overhangs create a wild, interesting topography, but heads up: the currents inside the channel can get turbulent, especially with incoming tides, so stay alert and stick close.
