Mary’s Place – Roatán’s Iconic Crevice Dive
Mary’s Place is one of Roatán’s most legendary dive sites, a breathtaking volcanic crevice that offers an unforgettable underwater experience. Loved by photographers and experienced divers alike, this site combines dramatic topography with the calm, clear waters of Roatán’s south side.
Inside and around the crack you can spot seahorses, cleaner shrimp, channel crabs, flamingo tongues, and schools of glassy sweepers. Outside on the wall, keep an eye out for turtles, spotted drum, reef fish, and occasionally eagle rays cruising by.
The site typically ranges from 45–110 ft (14–33 m) and is best enjoyed slowly, allowing divers to take in the textures, shadows, and the unique geological formation that makes Mary’s Place unlike anywhere else on the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef.
