Roger's Reef dive site

Overview

Description

Named after Roger, who wrecked his small boat onshore, Roger’s Wreck refers to the reef just off this point. Located where the northern coastline curves south, this site sits in a dynamic area, making it a less frequent but exciting dive due to changing conditions. The edge of the miniwall is a spectacle of marine life, like a circus under a big top—colors and shapes swirl in a mesmerizing dance, only missing the music! Divers can explore this coral-covered slope, while the flat ledge above is home to Sailfin Blennies. Watch for males rising from their burrows, performing their signature dance. Deeper, the spur and groove channels begin, offering chances to spot turtles, rays, sharks, and larger fish. If you see an old conch shell, check inside for a Corkscrew Anemone, often accompanied by Pederson Cleaner Shrimp. If they wave their purple and white antennae, they’re offering to clean—maybe it’s time for a quick underwater manicure!
