The buoy is anchored at 30ft on the edge of a spectacular drop off. A plaque that honors Capt. Don for his role in the conservation of Bonaire's underwater world lies at the buoy anchor point. In 1987 this plaque was placed here, and the dive site was named after him.
Schools of Black durgons can be found along with blue and brown baslets that swim around the edge of the drop off. The reef wall is made up of a series of steps that become less steep the deeper you go. Vertical ridges and channels cut through the steps. These channels are sandy and run through to the deep sandy floor at a depth of around 151 ft.
