Mindoro is a diver’s paradise, home to Apo Reef - the second largest coral reef in the world—and 75% of the planet’s coral species. Dive into vibrant reefs, deep drifts, and accessible wrecks. Marine life ranges from tuna, barracuda, and trevally to unusual species like pygmy seahorses, trumpet fish, and octopus. Pandan Island and Apo Reef offer pelagic action, with sightings of whale sharks, manta rays, eagle rays, and reef or hammerhead sharks. With this variety, Mindoro offers something exciting for divers of all levels.
Diving in Mindoro is possible year-round thanks to its tropical climate. Air temperatures average 80–96°F (26–36°C), and water stays a warm 80–86°F (26–30°C). The best time to dive is from November to May, when seas are calm and the weather is dry - perfect for exploring Apo Reef and Pandan Island. From June to October, diving continues, but expect occasional rain and rougher seas. For the best visibility and pelagic sightings, plan your trip between February and April.
