Aloha and welcome to Fathom Five Divers — Kauai's longest-running dive shop and your home base for unforgettable scuba adventures on the Garden Island. Founded with a passion for sharing the ocean and a belief that small groups make for big experiences, we've been guiding divers through Kauai's extraordinary underwater world for over 43 years. We're proudly rated a PADI 5-Star Instructor Development Center — and voted Best Dive Shop for Beginners in the Ultimate Kauai Guidebook.

You'll find us on the south shore of Kauai in charming Old Koloa Town, just five minutes from sunny Poipu Beach and Kukuiula Harbor, where our custom-built boats launch daily. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a coffee, and chat story with our instructors — that's the Fathom Five way.

Two Locations. The Whole Island.

Our south shore shop puts you minutes from spectacular diving, while our partner location, Ocean Quest Watersports, sits just off the north shore near Tunnels Beach — giving us access to virtually anywhere on Kauai.

Small Groups. Big Dives.

We cap every boat at just 6 divers — no cattle boats here. Our custom-built vessels were designed specifically for Hawaiian waters, and our 20+ south shore dive sites are all within 15 minutes of the harbor, making our two-tank trips a comfortable half-day adventure. You get personal attention, genuine connection with your guides, and that unhurried island pace you came here for.

30+ Dive Sites — Including the Forbidden Island

Kauai's waters hide 30+ unique dive sites teeming with marine life — graceful sea turtles, playful dolphins, and rare endemic fish found nowhere else on Earth. For the bucket-list experience, we run three-tank Niihau dive charters from May through September, reaching the remote reefs of Lehua Rock — the most pristine dive location in the USA and the westernmost scuba site in the country.

PADI Courses & eLearning

Whether you're here to earn your Open Water, complete your Advanced certification, add an Adventure Dive specialty, or get your Enriched Air/Nitrox card, we've got you covered. We now offer full PADI eLearning courses so you can complete the knowledge development at your own pace before you arrive — leaving more time for the fun part. Discover SCUBA dives are available for first-timers, with no experience necessary.

Gear, Rentals & More

We carry a full selection of SCUBA equipment, apparel, and accessories, along with underwater digital camera rentals with strobe capability, and snorkeling and gear rentals for the whole family.
