Turtle School Byron Bay Dive Centre

Here at Turtle School Byron Bay Dive Centre & Whale Watching, we have something for everyone.

We run snorkelling tours and scuba diving in Cape Byron Marine Park - Nguthungulli Julian Rocks Marine Nature Reserve all year round. During winter, we organise Whale Watching tours in the Bay - the only ones departing directly from Byron. Our tours are available from Thursday to Monday, weather permitting, with small groups and guided by our experienced and knowledgeable staff members, ensuring a safe and fun adventure.

We hold a permit from the NSW government for scientific research within the park. Our focus is on sea turtles, especially the Loggerhead turtles, as they are close to extinction locally. We run citizen science and conservation workshops with the aim of collecting sea turtle photographs for photo-identification of individuals and population monitoring.
