Haliotis Peniche Dive Centre is located beside Supertubos Beach in Peniche. Transfers are provided by van to the harbour, where the dive boats depart for the Berlengas Natural Reserve.
The Berlengas archipelago includes Berlenga Grande, together with the nearby Estelas and Farilhões reefs. Declared a protected area on 3 September 1981, it is Portugal’s oldest marine reserve and one of the country’s most distinctive diving destinations.
As the first Haliotis dive centre, the facility was purpose-built by divers with comfort, safety and efficient dive operations in mind. It features separate male and female changing rooms for up to 60 guests, hot-water showers, towels, two classrooms, a technical area, a well-stocked dive shop and a relaxing space beside the dedicated training pool. The pool measures 13 x 7 metres and reaches a depth of 3 metres.
As an Aqualung Dive Centre, Haliotis Peniche offers around 50 complete sets of rental equipment. The filling station is equipped with a BAUER compressor and can provide air, Nitrox, Trimix and oxygen. More than 100 cylinders are available in several configurations, including 12L, 15L and 18L tanks, as well as twin 12L and twin 15L sets. The centre is also rebreather-friendly.
Diving is operated from two Searibs semi-rigid inflatable boats. Lascaris is 12 metres long and powered by two 350 hp Yamaha outboard engines, while Necora measures 9.6 metres and is fitted with two 200 hp Yamaha engines. Both boats are equipped with depth sounders, VHF radios, GPS, customised tank racks, seating, boarding ladders, oxygen kits and first-aid equipment to support safe and comfortable dive trips.
