Jolene Tiong

Jolene Tiong is a media personality and ocean advocate whose relationship with the sea began at age 10. Her early love for the ocean evolved into action through community-led conservation efforts, including organizing beach clean-ups that collectively removed and recycled over 1.2 tons of waste from Malaysia’s coastlines.  Alongside her conservation work, Jolene built a decade-long career in media and digital storytelling—transitioning from runway and commercial modeling to being named Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant First Runner-Up 2018, hosting international travel programs on Malaysia’s national broadcaster Astro, and emceeing high-profile, official government-supported events. She also partnered with globally recognized brands across technology, lifestyle, and beauty, learning how influence can be leveraged to build engaged, value-driven communities.

After completing her MBA in Vancouver, Jolene returned to Southeast Asia and revisited the dive sites of her youth—only to witness the visible decline of coral ecosystems she once knew. That moment solidified and rekindled her purpose: to bridge digital audiences with ocean conservation through storytelling, education, and on-the-ground action, helping more people fall in love with the ocean—and take responsibility for protecting it.
