Welcome to your journey of discovery.
It’s no secret that our ocean is caving under the pressure of pollution and the after effects of single use plastic. By becoming a PADI Diver, you can be a catalyst for change in saving our seas and in turn, our planet.
At PADI, ocean conservation is a value ingrained at our core, and continues to strengthen as we cultivate meaningful partnerships with others who care deeply about the restoration of the aquatic world. This movement - a force for good - starts with you.
The ocean gives us life.
It is vital to conserve and restore a healthy underwater environment. The equation is simple: if the oceans cease to exist, so does humanity.
By 2025, more than 250 tons of plastic are estimated to have made its way into our oceans, that’s three items of plastic waste to each fish.
With only 4% of the ocean currently listed as protected, there is work to be done. PADI, and our community of 25 million divers around the workd, give hope back to the oceans by being an incredible force for good and adhering to the PADI Pillars of Change.
We invite you to join us.
What does a healthy ocean look like?
A picture of ocean heath is coral reefs brimming with biodiversity, schools of fish and vibrant colours. It’s a protected, fully functioning ecosystem where marine animals (both big and small) can live in a clean, unpolluted environment.
As a PADI Diver, you’ll have endless opportunities to learn about and have awe-inspiring encounters with threatened marine species while helping them thrive.
