Eligibility

The 2018 PADI Individual Member Master Scuba Diver Certification Challenge (“Challenge”) is open to PADI Individual Members located in the U.S Canada, Latin America and Caribbean (“Entrant”). Entrants must be renewed for 2018 and not have an open Quality Management action.

General Rules and Conditions

The goal of the Challenge is for Entrants to increase their Con Ed certifications and ultimately PADI Master Scuba Diver™ ratings beginning 1 May 2018 to 30 September 2018, over the same calendar period of 2017 (“2017 Comparison Period”). Only certifications received by PADI by 15 October 2018 will be counted. Growth will be determined by percentage growth of certifications over Entrant’s 2017 Comparison Period. Entrants must register for the challenge and enter on the Official PADI Individual Member Master Scuba Diver Challenge Website: padi.com/msdchallenge/member.

Entrants will compete in one of four categories, which are based on the 2017 Comparison Period of PADI Individual Members. Entrants in each group will compete against one another to win.

  1. Entrants with 0 MSD certifications during 2017
  2. Entrants with 1 MSD certifications during 2017
  3. Entrants with 2-4 MSD certifications during 2017
  4. Entrants with 5+ MSD certifications during 2017
Prizes

Each category will be awarded one 1st place prize winner:

Each 1st place winner in each category will receive the following:

  • Free PADI Professional membership renewal for 2019 (Valued up to $309.00 US), and a feature in Surface Interval.

*Note: The 2019 Member Renewal value is subject to the actual 2019 MembershipRenewal Fee.

By participating in the Challenge, Entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Winners will be required to sign and complete a Publicity Release & Affidavit of Eligibility, where legally permissible, and return it to PADI within 10 days of notification; otherwise the prize may be forfeited and awarded to an alternate Entrant. W inners give PADI unlimited rights to use winners’ name, picture and likeness, and testimonials globally, in advertising and publicity for this Challenge and for any other PADI use, without further compensation, where permitted by local law. Such use may include but is not limited to PADI YouTube Channel and related scuba YouTube Channels, PADI Pro Blog/Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, padi.com, Surface Interval, and press releases. All taxes, including but not limited to local, state and federal taxes, are the sole responsibility of the winners. No substitution of prize is permitted.

Winner Selection

PADI will determine the winners once the Challenge concludes (on or about 15 October 2018). The winners must be affiliated with PADI Americas and PADI Canada as of 1 May 2017. Winners will be notified by email on or about 1 November 2018. PADI is not responsible for lost, misdirected or postage due mail. PADI is not responsible for any late, lost, delayed, damaged, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, or unintelligible entries. Incomplete or illegible entries are not eligible. PADI or its affiliates may rescind any promotion found to contain errors without liability at their sole discretion. PADI’s decision and selection of the winner shall be final.

This Challenge shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California exclusive of its choice of laws principles. The California State courts of Orange County or the United States District Court for the Southern District of California shall have exclusive jurisdiction and venue over any dispute arising out of or relating to this Challenge.
