Located along the New Britain Island in Papua New Guinea, Kimbe Bay is a huge marine protected area with an extremely bio-diverse ecosystem. It has 60 percent of the total coral species found in Indo-Pacific area and according to estimates, nearly 860 species of reef fish reside in Kimbe Bay area.
There are large populations of fish, colorful soft coral formations, reef sharks, tunas and hard coral gardens in both Witu and Kimbe Bay. The reefs in the area are immaculately preserved.
The Walindi Plantation Resort also arranges liveaboard trips to other islands in the vicinity. The time and date of the trip is decided according to the weather and divers’ choice of sites.
