The jaw dropping underwater topography in this area makes for some memorable diving. Congregating around the pinnacles of Guanacaste, you will encounter many species of tropical fish, manta, turtles, eels and pelagic fish.

Bat Islands is all about sharks. Located 45 minutes by boat from Playa Ocotal on the mainland, the area is a protected marine preserve as part of the national park. The area is mostly known for spotting bull sharks. You can also see pacific manta and schools of the smaller devil ray in Bat Islands.

When to dive in Guanacaste & Bat Islands

Migrating humpback whales make their way through this area from July to March.
