For nearly eight years, AWARE Week meant one thing: Dive Against Debris®. This year, your toolkit for ocean protection just got bigger. Remove marine debris. Help track shark and ray populations through the Global Shark & Ray Census. Monitor reef health with the AWARE Biodiversity Survey. However you choose to get involved, every dive logged through the Conservation Action Portal (CAP) becomes part of the same story: proof that divers, together, are building the world's largest ocean monitoring network.

Three Ways to Protect the Ocean This AWARE Week
Above the Surface: Drive Impact with the Conservation Action Portal
The power of PADI AWARE lies in you: a diver with first-hand experience of the ocean and a drive to protect it. Here's how you can take local action with global impact, without your dive mask on:

Take the Ocean Torchbearer Pledge
You already dive because you love the ocean. Taking the Ocean Torchbearer Pledge is a way to turn that love into an ongoing commitment, staying connected to campaigns, conservation initiatives, and ways to keep protecting what you love, long after AWARE Week ends.
However you choose to get involved this AWARE Week, your actions matter. Every dive, above or below the surface, helps build a healthier, more resilient ocean.
Below the Surface: Make Every Dive Count
You're uniquely positioned to become part of a global conservation network. Document what lies beneath and turn what you see into advocacy. Every dive is a chance to collect data, monitor ocean health and be part of the biggest movement for the ocean.
Make Every Dive a Survey Dive
Every time you dive, you can log data through the Conservation Action Portal, your one-stop digital home for conservation action. Choose Dive Against Debris, the Global Shark & Ray Census, or the AWARE Biodiversity Survey, whichever fits the dive.
These actions support the PADI Blueprint for Ocean Action, addressing marine debris, marine protected areas, vulnerable species, and habitat recovery.
Join a Conservation Event During AWARE Week
Joining a an event running Dive Against Debris cleanups, Global Shark & Ray Census dives, or Biodiversity Surveys is one of the easiest and most visible ways to get involved and meet other members of this every growing and powerful community.

Dive with an Eco-Center
Want to make every dive count before you even get in the water? Choose a PADI Eco-Center. These are dive centers and resorts that have made a formal commitment to sustainable operations and conservation action, so your dive supports the ocean from the moment you book.
