Nate Porter up close and personal with a manta ray

Nate Porter

Seafaring Filmmaker

Nate grew up between the mountains of Utah and the Pacific Ocean of Hawaii. After his first dive with his father in Mexico, Nate was hooked. He ultimately became a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, and spent years teaching and guiding dives. While working the famous Manta Ray Night Dive in Kona, Hawaii, he transitioned to a career in underwater videography. Nate now lives with a large crew aboard a pair of Expedition Sailing Vessels, filming full time for the USA Marine Educational Non-Profit Expedition Drenched, a 501c3 non-profit organization for marine education. He is currently sailing the world. We caught up with him last in the Indian Ocean.
