Sr. PHP Software Engineer

The Sr. PHP Software Engineer is a key contributor to the development and functionality of the PADI e-commerce engine. Reporting to the VP, Product Engineering and closely interfacing with the UX and Product teams, the Sr. PHP Software Engineer is primarily responsible for producing high quality and on-schedule solutions a variety of PADI e-commerce projects.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Build and support PHP applications within an enterprise environment.
  • Experience with PHP Frameworks and MVC architecture.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert throughout the organization on PHP application questions and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Assist in defining best practices for software development and deployment solutions through collaborative communications.
  • Full stack experience including Apache, Nginx and JS libraries
  • Integration of 3rd Party Services and APIs.
  • Monitor CI/CD pipeline and platform deployments
  • Administration and support of PHP applications, MySQL database platforms and AWS microservices.
  • Drive all functional requirements documentation throughout the lifecycle.
  • Collaboratively define and manage high-level scope.
  • Drive dynamic & interactive requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders throughout the enterprise.
  • Develop functional requirements from user stories, process flows, and user acceptance criteria.
  • Execute the migration /development of the client product catalog.
  • Collaborates in project meetings, sets priorities, communicates status and meets deadlines.
Skills and Experience You’ll Need to Be Successful In This Role
  • • BA or BS is strongly preferred with a minimum of three (3) years of web development experience required; or a combination of relevant education and experience. 3+ years of experience with MySQL, Apache, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • 3+ years of professional PHP software development, Enterprise preferred; Magento Certification a PLUS
  • Experience maintaining an eCommerce environment.
  • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies and practices around analysis, design, and development
  • Ability to identify, mitigate, resolve and escalate risks throughout the lifecycle.
  • Strong PHP Back End Development Background (3-5 years’ experience)
  • Experience with performance optimization, troubleshooting and maintaining a secure environment
  • Knowledge of Server Management and Hosting
  • Knowledge of Relational Databases (SQL Server)
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools – git.
  • Familiarity of IT infrastructure (Web and Application Server Setup, Load-Balancing, etc.)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work and collaborate with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to build testable and reusable services.
  • Commitment to best coding and design practices.
