Instructor Development Coordinator


Serves as a primary contact person with the membership and public for Instructor Development, initiates and responds to inquiries regarding logistics and registrations for a range of Instructor Development conducted programs including; IE, EFRIT, ID Updates, Course Director Training Course and member education programs.

Coordinates and administers scheduled programs, serves as a staff member when required. Supports Director, Instructor Development with budget and expenses reconciliation.

Embodies Instructor Development role as gatekeeper of PADI Standards and philosophy.

Supports the four corporate primary objectives: safe and responsible diver acquisition and retention; member acquisition and retention; financial prosperity; global organizational alignment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
  1. Function as primary contact person for inquiries regarding logistics and registration for a range of Instructor Development conducted event including; IE, EFRIT, ID Updates, CD Preparatory Seminar etc.
  2. Maintain annual schedule for IEs and other Instructor Development conducted events.
  3. Maintain data bases of venue, accommodation, costings, staffing and other related logistics for events.
  4. Liaise with Instructor Development department and other PADI staff to address concerns and needs of PADI members.
  5. Liaise with Instructor Development hub staff to support achieving efficiencies of scale and manpower goals are achieved.
  6. Assist in review of PADI Asia Pacific based CDTC applicants.
  7. Coordinate the Alternate-Location IDC approval process.
  8. Co-ordinate the review and redistribution of post event reports on Instructor Development activities.
  9. Assist in the collation of management reports related to Instructor Development activity.
  10. Conduct Instructor Development related events in the field as directed.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
  • PADI IDC Staff Instructor as a minimum (PADI Course Director preferred)
  • EFR Instructor Trainer
  • Valid driver’s license
Education and/or Experience

Minimum one year as a PADI Course Director (preferred).

Language Skills
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English and Mandarin (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to write technical information clearly and concisely strongly preferred.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Physical Demands

Be able to conduct all portions of PADI Instructor Examinations (as required).

  • Able to travel throughout PADI Asia Pacific region to perform role.

The Instructor Development Coordinator positon is located in Sydney, Australia and therefore Australian citizenship or holder of a valid Permanent Resident visa is essential.
