Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q:What’s the difference between being PADI certified and being a PADI Diving Society member?

A: Having a PADI certification means you’ve successfully met the training and performance requirements for a particular certification. Your PADI Diver certification is good for life, though it’s highly recommended that you take a refresher course if you haven’t been diving for an extended period.

PADI Diving Society is an optional international dive club that you may join at any time. Society membership complements your diver training by providing a variety of member-only benefits including savings on dive related purchases, scuba diving trips and a subscription to a local dive magazine.

  • Q: I have a PADI certification card. Does that mean I’m a PADI Diving Society Member?

A: If you have a PADI certification card that doesn’t mean that you are a PADI Diving Society member. To join PADI Diving Society, contact your local PADI Dive Shop or Resort, or use the PADI Diving Society online application.

  • Q: I’m a PADI Professional (Divemaster or above). Am I a PADI Diving Society  member?

A: Society membership is a benefit for all renewed PADI Professionals residing in the United States, US territories and Canada and any areas serviced by the PADI Americas or PADI Canada Offices.

  • Q: I don't know if I am a current PADI Diving Society member or I need to renew my membership.

A: To renew or check on the status of your membership, please call 888 333 7234 (US and Canada) or +1 904 447 2535. Or use the Online Renewal Application.

  • Q: I just signed up for PADI Diving Society and I don't have my membership card or membership number yet. What Should I do?
