Scotland's Waters Brought To Life


UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION, JUNE 20-SEPTEMBER 6, 2009
STIRLING SMITH ART GALLERY & MUSEUM

An exhibition of underwater photography by Elaine Whiteford opened at the Stirling Smith Art Gallery & Museum on June 20, 2009.

The exhibition, which runs until 6 September and is supported by PADI International Ltd, features 50 images which demonstrate the amazing colour and variety of the underwater world of Scotland and other countries.

Elaine Whiteford, an experienced photographer and PADI Instructor, has had articles and images published in a range of publications at home and abroad, including: The Scot's Magazine, Scottish Wildlife, Diver, The Undersea Journal and The Sea. Elaine is also a contributor wildlife photographer to The Scottish Wildlife Trust.

Whiteford's work has already featured in a number of exhibitions, such as the Royal Photographic Society's Projected Image Exhibition, the Edinburgh International Exhibition of Photography and the Scottish Parliament's Biodiversity Exhibition. The exhibition at the Stirling Smith is her first solo exhibition.

The Stirling Smith Art Gallery & Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday 1030-1700 and on Sundays from 1400-1700. Admission is free of charge. For more information see:
