PADI hosts Course Director Training Course (CDTC) in Malaysia

This year a total of 39 candidates including 19 from the Asia Pacific region, attended the PADI Course Director Training Course in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.

Participants from all corners of the globe recently gathered in magnificent Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia to attend PADI’s prestigious Course Director Training Course. The highest achieveable level of training within the PADI System, the twelve day CDTC trains experienced PADI Master Instructors in the responsibilities and duties of a Course Director.

This year a total of 39 candidates attended - 19 being from the Asia Pacific region - representing 20 different countries, together with 6 interpreters. The event presented significant networking opportunities with many candidates taking the advantage to learn of diving and business opportunities in other parts of the world.

Included in the course was a Digital Underwater Photography Instructor Trainer course, a DSAT Instructor Trainer orientation and an Instructor Trainer course for the new PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty.

The common theme amongst all attendees was a passion for diving, proving that if we focus on the diving lifestyle, there are many opportunities regardless of language barriers or geographical limitations.

2008 was the ninth year the programme has taken place at the Magellan Sutera Resort, a perfect location with great conference facilities, a 50 metre swimming pool and Mamutik Island a short boat ride away for the Open Water dives.

After twelve days of presentations and evaluations by PADI Staff from 4 international offices, 39 candidates completed the pinnacle of PADI professional training, graduating as Course Directors. With new found friendships and inspiration, they set off to convey their passion and enthusiasm to new PADI instructors in all parts of the world. Congratulations to you all!
