Job Title: Dive Travel Specialist
FLSA Status: Non Exempt
SUMMARY
Develops sales
leads and sells PADI Travel Network dive vacations to groups and individuals booked
by PADI Dive Centers and their customers. Visits dive centers and travel agencies
to assist them in developing their dive travel business; escorts and manages special
programs held at resorts. Supports the four corporate primary objectives: safe and
responsible diver acquisition and retention; member acquisition and retention; financial
prosperity; global operational alignment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Answer inquiries regarding
travel information such as departures, destination, tour packages, resorts, and
dive operations; describe routes, services, and accommodations available.
- Compute
and quote rates for individual and group trips to resorts and dive destinations.

Obtain confirmation of travel and lodging space.
- Prepare invoices of transportation/accommodation
charges.
- Make telephone contact and correspondence with membership regarding service
complaints, special member requests.
- Work to improve systems and procedures to ensure
efficiency in sales efforts.
- Maintain and service key preferred accounts/top performing
dive centers.
- Conduct ongoing self-education regarding new fares, new programs,
new "specials," new resorts/ diver operations, changes, enhancements to the reservations
system. Periodic familiarization trips to resorts must be taken in order to have
complete knowledge of products.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma
or general education degree (GED).
- Travel school graduate, preferred.
- Minimum five
years wholesale experience.
- Minimum one year sales experience, preferably in the
travel industry.
- Sabre trained.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and comprehend simple
instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions,
and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to
carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal
with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

REQUIREMENTS

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Certified diver or willing and able to become PADI certified.
