PADI Charts Critical Path for the Future
PADI commits to growing dive center and resort business through increased member
focus, streamlined operations and innovative marketing campaigns.
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA - 21 March 2007 - PADI senior executives from around
the world recently gathered to chart the path for PADI’s future for 2007 and beyond.
With a global membership of more than 130,000 individual members and 5500 retailer
and resort members based in 183 countries and territories, it was no surprise that
PADI Worldwide would emerge from this year’s global strategic planning meetings
with a focus on the PADI membership. Deemed “Assignment Member First,”
PADI Worldwide has established a member-centric philosophy that now underpins all
future business decisions.
Drew Richardson, PADI Worldwide President and Chief Operating Officer said, “The
foundation of PADI’s success is and always has been PADI Members. With that in mind,
PADI Worldwide will have several announcements in the near future focusing on current
operating procedures and creating even more valuable membership benefits. In short,
PADI will be the easiest company to do business with in the dive industry."
Also high on the agenda was a continued focus on acquiring new divers through groundbreaking
partnerships with major industry stakeholders. Efforts include expanding GO Dive
globally and mining the PADI Discover Scuba Diving participant database and encouraging
them to become fully certified divers.
PADI, as the world’s largest diver training organization, will continue to encourage
continuing education for existing divers with innovative campaigns such as the Master
Scuba Diver Challenge, GO Dive, and the new Go PRO Challenge.
Over the next few months PADI will introduce new, creative marketing and public
relations campaigns to reach beyond traditional industry boundaries to refresh and
revitalize scuba diving.
