More than 1 Million Potential Divers Learn About Scuba Through Latest PADI Media

PADI continues to support it retailers and the industry through recent story placements
in high profile media outlets
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA – April 19, 2007 (DNW): PADI doesn’t just talk about
helping to grow the industry – PADI takes action. The latest example of this unparalleled
support for the company’s member retailers and resorts can be seen in four large
circulation outlets that recently featured extended articles about scuba diving.
Still the only company in the dive industry with a full-time public relations effort,
PADI’s team was instrumental in securing recent feature stories in Delta Sky
magazine (circulation nearly 400,000), American Way magazine (circulation
more than 350,000) and Hilton Moments (circulation of several hundred thousand)
and PC Photo, (circulation more than 190,000) . Each publication talked about the
process of learning to scuba dive and why it’s important to seek out PADI-affiliated
facilities, with PC Photo featuring an extended piece on PADI’s latest program,
the PADI Digital Underwater Photographer course.
According to Kristin Valette, PADI Americas Director of Marketing and Communications,
these stories are part of a larger, comprehensive effort to blanket all media outlets
with scuba-related information and feature stories.
“The need for effective and consistent publicity is key to the industry’s growth
and long-term health,” Valette points out. “We are starting to generate a lot of
momentum with these placements. Our media relations department is actively developing
feature story opportunities today that we’ll see results from later this year.”
