PADI eLearning Pays Immediate Dividends for Colorado Retailer
Innovative eLearning Program Brings Tortuga Bay Dive Center Back to PADI (RSM) June
20, 2007: The latest PADI retailer to sing the praises of PADI eLearning wasn’t
even a PADI retailer just a few weeks ago. But eLearning's features, benefits and
future potential were more than enough to bring Tortuga Bay under the PADI banner.
According to Rob Bland, owner of the Greeley, Colorado, USA dive center, the company
recently became a PADI Member and eLearning is the main reason. “It’s the driving
force behind our decision to bring PADI back on. I look at training agencies as
vendors and am always looking to offer the best product to my customers. I believe
PADI eLearning is the best product.”
Since its introduction last month, PADI eLearning has been the talk of the dive
industry. Designed to enhance the training process for dive retailers while increasing
profits, hundreds of student divers have already completed the program. This includes
four students who signed up for eLearning within days of Tortuga Bay becoming a
PADI Member.
Bland said PADI’s program appealed to him. “I originally took on another training
agency for their online training program, but PADI’s program offers us more. I like
the notes (alerts) and the ability to communicate with the students.”
Bland sees eLearning as important to the future of his business. “It’s a powerful
tool and the direction of the future. eLearning is the leading edge and I think
PADI is really going to rise to the surface because of it.”
While eLearning was the driving force behind Tortuga Bay's return, Bland also cites
several other reasons. “I like the changes I’ve seen with PADI during the past few
years that have been good for the industry. This includes moving more to support
dealers and supporting programs to retain students. To keep up with the times, you
have to make changes and it seems PADI is doing just that.”
